    Summary Harry Chandler was born on May 17, 1864, in Landaff, New Hampshire. He moved to Los Angeles at age 17 to cure himself of pneumonia, married Magdalena Schlador and they had two children together. He then married Emma Marian Otis and they had six children together. He became one of the largest landowners in the US., the publisher of the Los Angeles Times, and one of the most influential men in Los Angeles. He died on September 23, 1944, in Los Angeles, California, at the age of 80, and was buried in Hollywood, California.
